Managing Director
Steve founded EDP Environmental in 2006 and has developed the company to become a well-established name in the construction industry. Steve is the Managing Director of EDP Environmental and is responsible for the business development, client satisfaction and financial management.
Steve has over 35 years’ experience in project management and design team leadership across all sectors of the industry.
NIKKI MERCIECA
Finance Director
Nikki is the Finance Director and is responsible for the financial running of the entire company. Nikki brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, having run a number of businesses across different industries for the last 30 years.
Based in the Exeter Office, Nikki and her team provide the full remit of financial services across all EDP Environmental offices.
SIMON OLVER
Regional Director
Simon is a Regional Director based in the Exeter office and has been with the company for over 16 years. With a background as a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer, he brings a strong technical foundation to his leadership role. Simon is responsible for overseeing project management across a wide range of schemes, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, to a high standard, and in line with client expectations. His extensive experience, both in design and management, enables him to provide strategic direction while supporting the development of the team and maintaining strong client relationships.
IAN SCOTT
Low Carbon Consultant
Ian joined EDP Environmental in its conception in 2006. He is a chartered engineer MCIBSE, MIMechE with a wide range of experience in Energy Management, Project Management, Engineering Management, Engineering Design and Consultancy.
Ian is responsible for the Energy Division and is part of the Senior Management Team.
DELLA SIMS
Office Manager
Della joined EDP at its inception and has been a key member of the team ever since. Working closely with Steve Rysdale and the other directors, she oversees the day-to-day management of the office, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. Della plays a pivotal role in coordinating internal processes, supporting project delivery, and maintaining strong communication across the team. Her extensive experience and organisational expertise contribute to the overall effectiveness of the business, allowing the directors and technical staff to focus on delivering high-quality services to clients.
NICHOLA OUTRAM
Utilities and Public Health Engineer
Nichola joined EDP Environmental back in July 2019 as a Junior Mechanical Engineer and has now progressed within the team to be our Utilities and Public Health Engineer and is an invaluable member of the team.
Based in the Exeter Office, she is actively involved in many projects across all sectors within EDP Environmental.
NATALIE MERCIECA
Accounts Manager
Natalie joined EDP in 2019 and is based in the Exeter office. She has successfully completed her Level 2, 3, and 4 ATT qualifications, demonstrating her strong technical knowledge and expertise in accounting and finance. In her role as Accounts Manager, Natalie is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting processes. She plays a key role in supporting the wider team, providing financial insights that help inform decision-making, and contributing to the smooth running of the business. Her dedication, attention to detail, and proactive approach make her an invaluable member of the team.
ANDREW HEAVENS
Electrical Design Engineer
Andrew joined the Exeter Office in January 2019 as a Junior Electrical Engineer, and has since been working hard on broadening his skill set, leading him to become an Electrical Design Engineer in 2023. Andrew brings an array of experience across multiple sectors.
PAUL PRISCOTT
Principal Electrical Design Engineer
Paul joined the Exeter Office in August 2019, as a Principal Electrical Engineer. Paul has over 45 years' experience in the building services design and construction industry, bringing a wealth of both practical and technical knowledge to the team, working on a wide range of projects across all sectors.
ISOBEL BODEN
Principal Sustainability Engineer
Isobel joined the EDP Exeter team in August 2023 as a Sustainability Engineer. Having graduated from Heriot Watt University Dubai Campus with a BEng Honours in Architectural Engineering, she worked in a London consultancy as an MEP BIM Coordinator for two years.
She regularly attends networking and showcasing events as a current member of the Women in BIM society and hopes to engage with the industry on a more local level as a new member of the CIBSE Young Engineers network in the South West.
RAY BROWNING
Mechanical Design Engineer
Ray joined the Exeter Office in June 2021 as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Ray has been working in the industry for over 35 years and with his knowledge, brings sound expertise and technical advice to the EDP team across all market sectors.
ALLISTER TSAURA
Principal Electrical Design Engineer
Allister has more than 20 years of experience in Building Services Electrical Engineering and Project Management. His portfolio includes Health, Residential, Education, Water and Wastewater Treatment Works. Allister is a Principal Electrical Design Engineer based in our Exeter Office.
MACIEJ GRABOWIECKI
BIM Manager
Maciej joined EDP Environmental in February 2020, with his in-depth knowledge of Construction Technology, Architecture, Building Information Modelling (BIM) & MEP. He has a wealth of knowledge in digital engineering, with extensive experience in BIM Design, Coordination and Management.
Maciej is currently responsible for the BIM/CAD team at EDP and provides training to the design team.
ARCHIE KENT
Building Services Technician
Archie is currently completing an apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering Technician Level 3. Based in the Exeter Office, he will be working alongside the Engineering team gaining valuable training across the Mechanical, Electrical, Sustainability and BIM sectors.
JOE FENNEMORE
Mechanical Design Engineer
Joe joined EDP Environmental in September 2023, as a Mechanical Design Engineer – based in the Fareham Office. Joe works with the EDP Fareham team to help deliver successful projects.
CHRIS HITCHCOCK
Associate Director
Chris is a Associate Director with 16 years of industry experience. He joined EDP in October 2024 and played a key role in the opening of the Cornwall office in September 2025. Chris brings extensive technical expertise and project knowledge to the team, supporting the delivery of high-quality electrical design solutions across a wide range of projects.
LAURENCE MADDISON
Electrical Engineer
Laurence joined the EDP Environmental Fareham team in 2024 as an Electrical Engineer. He has 6 years of experience working as both an MEP CAD technician and lighting designer.
JORDAN HORROCKS
Principal Mechanical Engineer
Jordan joined EDP Environmental in August 2024, having experience of working as a consultant for both contractors and end clients. A principal mechanical engineer with 10 years’ experience, Jordan designs & manages projects from feasibility through to handover and leads the mechanical design team in the Fareham office.
SAUL BARRETT
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Saul joined our Fareham team in December 2024, bringing 10 years of experience across Government, MOD, Commercial, Residential, and Industrial sectors. With expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, Net Zero strategies, BREEAM/DREEAM, and Mechanical & Electrical surveys, he’s a fantastic addition to our growing team.
OLIVER CURLE
Junior Mechanical Engineer
After graduating from the University of Plymouth in 2023, Ollie has been sharpening his BIM and Revit skills. He joined us in January 2025, and we’re looking forward to supporting his growth and expanding his knowledge and experience in the Built Environment Industry.
CHARLIE WEBBER
Graduate Sustainability Engineer
Charlie completed his Architectural Engineering degree at Liverpool John Moores University and has since returned to his hometown of Devon to begin his career. His academic background and enthusiasm make him a great addition to the team, and we look forward to supporting his growth in the role of Graduate Sustainability Engineer at EDP Environmental.
KAYLUM PYM
Building Services Technician
Kaylum joined the Exeter office in September 2025 and is currently undertaking a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Building Services at Exeter College. Through his apprenticeship, he is developing a strong foundation of technical knowledge while gaining valuable hands-on experience within the team.
