Charity of the Year 2022 – Hospiscare 40 Club

As some of you will already be aware this year EDP have joined Hospiscare’s 40 Club and what a year it has been so far. Here is a round-up of our first 6 months of fundraising.
Our Office Manager Della was the first up in January, her challenge was to close all of the activity rings on her Apple watch each day throughout the month. This entailed meeting her set goals for; amount of active calories burnt, minutes of brisk activity completed and amount of times spent standing/moving for at least one minute per hour. Della smashed this challenge, setting a precedent for all of the rest of us to follow.
Next up was our Office Co-ordinator Beth, she set herself the challenge of hitting 10,000 steps a day. Not only did she hit this but she surpassed it, actually walking a grand total of 426,042 steps in the month, an average of 15,214 steps a day throughout February!
March was a fun one as we attended the Hospiscare Men’s Walk. This was a fantastic day out and a great opportunity for our team to get together whilst also raising money for the charity. Our fabulous team of 8 successfully completed the 8 mile walk and celebrated with a pint and pasty to finish.
In April it was the turn of Steve, our Managing Director, who completed an impressive 40 push ups each day in celebration of the 40 Club. Thank you Steve – a great contribution to our fundraising!
Natalie in our accounts team took the baton from Steve and cycled 40 miles a week throughout May. May blessed us with a wide array of weather conditions from wind and rain to glorious sunshine and Nat was out pedalling regardless, most weeks going above and beyond her 40 mile target. Great work!
June was a quiet month for our staff as we have a big exciting month of fundraising coming up in July! We have a team of 3 crazy individuals who are taking part in a 15,000ft skydive on Wednesday 27th July in aid of our 40 Club fundraising. The rest of us wish them the very best of luck and will be cheering them on from the safety of the ground.
Keep your eyes peeled on our website and social media accounts for regular updates throughout the second half of 2022, we have some exciting things in the pipeline.
We are extremely proud members of Hospiscare’s 40 Club. The charity are based locally, working across Exeter, Mid and East Devon and provide outstanding care to those with life limiting illnesses as well as supporting those close to them. We are so pleased we were able to join over 40 other local businesses to celebrate the charities 40th year by pledging to raise £1000. We are well on track and are pleased to say that we have hit 50% of our annual target. If you have already donated – thank you!!! Our team are working hard and pushing themselves to achieve great things so this support is greatly appreciated and will make a lot of difference to a local charity.
