New purpose built Depot and Maintenance Facility for Stagecoach Buses. The development is on a 3 acre site on an industrial estate in Exeter. Some of the site involved reclaiming part of the Park & Ride Facility car park. The building is a facility that handles the night storage, maintenance and refuelling of Stagecoach's fleet of 160 buses.

Stagecoach is one of the largest bus operators in the UK and has the lowest fares of any major bus operator. Stagecoach in Exeter and the South West is thriving with innovative additional services being added continually and new state-of-the art all-electric buses imminent.
The new development was part of a scheme to redevelop the Stagecoach bus depot in Exeter's Grecian Quarter and relocate it to a larger site at Matford.
The new Stagecoach Bus depot at Matford is a brand-new purpose-built scheme for bus maintenance and storage. It is an innovative dual-use facility, the first of its kind in the UK, that includes an area that operates as a “Park & Ride” during the day and as a “Bus Park” at night.
The development won the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) Award for Innovation in conjunction with Devon County Council. The scheme cost £8.5M and is the largest infrastructure project undertaken by Stagecoach providing the largest depot outside London and Manchester.
Stagecoach in consultation with Exeter City Council reached an agreement struck that suited both parties very well. The redevelopment of the existing Stagecoach facility provided Retail & Student Accommodation of 570 additional beds and leisure amenities for the city.
