Principal/Senior Mechanical Engineer – Exeter & Fareham Offices – About You

  • You will report to the Director of Building Services, with a key liaison and supporting role to the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services on projects across the United Kingdom.
  • You will be responsible for tasks related to the design, development, and implementation of Mechanical Systems in buildings, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
  • You will be part of the key design team to assist with the preparation of schemes across a wide variety of sectors.
  • The role will be demanding and require a forward thinking individual who is also a self-starter, to be able to multitask and manage more than one live project at any given time.
  • You will assist the Senior Management Team in the ongoing development of the business and maintain strong customer relationships with our current client base.
  • You will have a good understanding of the design of Mechanical Services across a variety of building types and industry sectors, and with a reasonable understanding of Electrical Services Design.
  • You will assist with the financial management of the project fee throughout the various phases of the project.

 Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Building Services – Mechanical Design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Preparation of specifications
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in the preparation of CAD/REVIT drawings for Mechanical Services designs.
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services
  • Membership of CIBSE/IMechE is desirable
  • Knowledge of calculation software (MEPworx) or willingness to learn

 

Junior Mechanical Engineer – Exeter & Fareham Offices – About You

  • You will report to the Mechanical team, with a supporting role in the design of Mechanical Building Services.
  • You will be part of the Mechanical design team to assist with the preparation of schemes across a wide variety of sectors.
  • The role will be demanding and require a forward thinking individual who is also a self-starter to be able to multitask and manage more than one live project at any given time.
  • You will have an understanding of the design of Mechanical Services.
  • Knowledge of calculation software (MEPworx) or willingness to learn

JORDAN HORROCKS

Jordan joined EDP Environmental in August 2024, having experience of working as a consultant for both contractors and end clients. A principal mechanical engineer with 10 years’ experience, Jordan designs & manages projects from feasibility through to handover and leads the mechanical design team in the Fareham office.

JOE FENNEMORE

Joe joined EDP Environmental in September 2023, as a Mechanical Design Engineer – based in the Fareham Office. Joe works with the EDP Fareham team to help deliver successful projects.

RAY BROWNING

Ray joined the Exeter Office in June 2021 as a Mechanical Design Engineer.  Ray has been working in the industry for over 35 years and with his knowledge, brings sound expertise and technical advice to the EDP team across all market sectors.

NICHOLA OUTRAM

Nichola joined EDP Environmental back in July 2019 as a Junior Mechanical Engineer and has now progressed within the team to be our Utilities and Public Health Engineer and is an invaluable member of the team.

Based in the Exeter Office, she is actively involved in many projects across all sectors within EDP Environmental.

SIMON OLVER

Based in the Exeter Office, Simon is responsible for Project Management, MEP Design and Strategy on a range of projects.

Simon is a qualified Mechanical Services Design Engineer who forms part of the EDP technical review team.

JEREMY KENT

Jeremy joined EDP in 2023 as a Director.  He is responsible for strategy and overseeing projects within the South West region.

Jeremy believes in an integrated and collaborative approach to building teams within a business and uses this philosophy in delivering successful projects for clients.

After studying in mechanical building services design at Bath College, Jeremy spent 35 years within a contracting environment in the South West. After noticing a demand for a medium sized design practice with sustainability and BIM expertise, he joined EDP to work with Steve and his team.
